The 2008 California State Fair “Goes Hollywood” from August 15th – September 1st, including Mondays and Labor Day.  The Cal Expo fairgrounds come alive every summer as the State Fair becomes a "city within a city" that hosts nearly one million visitors.  Folks come from near and far for the memorable delights of this 155-year-old extravaganza that includes exciting exhibits, amazing attractions, live entertainment, and the Magnificent Midway.  Hours are Monday - Thursday: 12 Noon to 10PM; Friday - Sunday and Labor Day: 10 AM to 10 PM and Exhibit Buildings Open Until: 10 PM.   Regular ticket prices during the fair are: General Admission - $10, Seniors (ages 62+) - $8, Children (ages 5-12) - $6, Children (ages 0-4) – FREE and Parking: Cars - $8 and motorcycles - $5.  For more information, visit bigfun.org

The Sacramento 45th Annual Greek Festival will be held on Friday, August 29th - Sunday, August 31st, sponsored by the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Sacramento. The event features live music, singing and dancing performances and a cultural display known as Hellenica. General admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors over 65 years of age and children under 12 are free. Hours of the event are Noon-10pm each day.

Make a Night of The Summer Music Series, held at the Fountains at Roseville on Friday & Saturday evenings from 6pm-8pm. A Night of Laughs, comedy benefit for the Domestic Violence Intervention Center, will be held on Sunday, September 7th at the Dante Club. It will be raining golf balls at "Music in the Mountains Swing Along" golf tournament at a beautiful private course in the Sierra foothills on Sunday, September 7th during the 16th Annual tournament. Hundreds of golf balls will be dropped from a height of 55 feet, the ball that is closest to (or in) the hole could win up to $1,000 and you don't have to be a golfer to get in on the action. Bring your own foursome or sign-up to be placed on a team if you'd like to play golf. The field is limited to 120 players, get the early bird special for $125/player by August 10th or $140/player after, it includes 18 holes of golf, snacks, great barbecue lunch, dinner and awards banquet. The 2nd Annual Suds on the Green will be held on Saturday, September 13th from 1pm-5pm and is a unique event featuring unlimited beer tasting of over 30 different breweries, but with a twist.  The complete brewfest is located directly on the final hole of the National Golf League's Sacramento Team Golf Shootout.  NGL golf is a roaringly fun event, with beer live music and everything you want from one of the newest brewfests to hit the Northern California area.  Tickets are only $25 the day of the event and $20 prepay. Proceeds benefit the First Tee of Greater Sacramento.  The brewfest is followed by a Free Concert featuring Aroarah! The Miss Hawaiian Tropic Endless Summer Invitational Model Search will hold a model search competition on Saturday, September 13th in the Resort's Club 88. This is one of approximately 300 preliminary model searches nationwide and this will be the last chance for women in this region to qualify for the U.S. Finals.
